The 261 MPG VW Formula XL1 Production Prototype

The engineers at Volkswagen are claiming that the above Formula XL1 Prototype has a mpg rating of 261, a staggeringly high rating if it turns out to be true. The hybrid car is set to be unveiled at the Qatar Motor Show this week, an interesting choice of show for a car designed to drastically cut oil consumption and the resulting demand for oil from the Middle East. Subaru Confidence in Motion Concept Car

Subaru released the above teaser image and announced that they will be unveiling an all new concept car on November 17th at the LA Autoshow called the Confidence in Motion Concept Car. Nissan have released the above teaser image ahead of a new concept vehicle that will be shown at this years Paris Motorshow (2nd-17th October). We have almost no information on the new TownPod EV except for the teaser image and the following, rather vague description;
