Exclusive: Brammo Takes Hong Kong By Storm
Brammo made a significant appearance at the annual Hong Kong bike show yesterday, the massively popular Brammo bikes quite literally took the show by storm to the point I had to apply rugby scrum tactics to get through the crowd and get some pictures. When I got through the crowd of photographers the above image is the first thing I saw, I was of course immediately concerned that the ladies high-heel-shoes might scratch the Brammo Enertia’s paintwork…
Brammo had the Enertia, the Empulse and the Brammo TTR #26 on show – if the crowd of media, photographers and enthusiasts was anything to go by the Brammo team have a huge market waiting to be tapped in Hong Kong and China, not to mention the fact that Jackie Chan is often seen blasting around town on his own Brammo Enertia, you can’t buy product placement that good.
The Brammo stand had dozens of photographers jockeying for position whereas the next most popular stand (with the new Ducati Diavel) had just 7 guys taking pictures in a rather relaxed fashion.
The image above is of the brand new Brammo Empulse and as the more eagle eyed will have noticed, it has a license plate, meaning that it’s road legal, meaning that I want to have a go. Sadly the poor guy running the stand was surrounded by print media journalists who all had questions and although the print medium may be dying, it’s still hard to say “hey, I’m from the internet and I have a few questions” and be taken seriously.
The #26 bike pictured above the the Brammo TTR electric race bike that raced at the Isle of Man in June 2009, Brammo finished a respectable 3rd in the race although they finished in first place out of the production bikes (and not just the one off race bikes).
Stay tuned for more details of Brammo’s activities as they continue to become the motorcycle equivalent of Tesla Motors.
